A site stores data in distinct areas

Each area declares a well-defined part of a Dbquity site and instantiates a single, globally accessible entity instance that acts as the root of the hierarchy of the entity instances that comprise the area.

An area declares an instance that is globally accessible. This area instance is usually referenced simply by the area name, though sometimes for disambiguation the origin and name of the model declaring the area needs to be prepended:
